Eggs and Goats!
Dylan and Jonah went off to their first overnight summer church camp without parents this week! They did great! While they were gone, we unexpectedly acquired our first two goats! I don't know their breeds, but one is a milking goat (dry now) named Pearly (white) and the other is a black and white female goat named Lucy. So far they are working tirelessly and happily clearing our property of unwanted brush (remember the poison oak fiasco?).
The morning after we brought the goast home, I went out to let the chickens out of the coop in the morning and found 4 eggs! There were two more later in the day as well. I haven't eaten them yet, I was waiting for the boys to get home. Since then, there have only been one egg at a time on most days. I think they hens are laying outside in the poison oak, which obviously is not good. We are going to keep them in the coop for a couple days to try to encourage them to lay inside.
